Up and coming Worksop athlete Rosie Muxlow faced the biggest challenge of her young sporting career on 7th September.
Notts Athletics asked the 14-year-old to enter a national athletics competition at Loughborough University.
The competition was an open to all entrants and competitors from all parts of the United Kingdom gathered at the renowned sporting venue.
Muxlow was entered in the Under 15 javelin event and was against 16 other top throwers.
The competition was called ‘Stars of the Future’ and Muxlow proved worthy of the title as she threw 31.16m, just shy of her personal best.
The throw put her second place overall and earned her the silver medal, and she was only beaten by the number two ranked thrower at Under 15 level.
A sporting all-rounder, Muxlow has had a good 2014.
She excelled at the Doncaster Schools Athletics tournament in the Under 15 javelin, took awards at Hill House School for both netball and rounders, and won a British judo title.
