The Worksop and District Table Tennis League’s Annual Closed Championships took place this week with some terrific matches playe. Some players had more success than others and two of those players were Tom McIntosh and Richard Element who will meet each other in three different finals on Finals Nights later in the season.
They will meet in both the Open and Handicap singles finals and then again with their doubles partners of Kyle McIntosh and Dave Marsh in the Open Doubles Final.

Element will also play in the Draw Doubles Final along with Andy Lee, Kalpesh Bhatt and Dave Marsh, but Tom McIntosh went two better by reaching two other finals as well.
He will meet his brother Kyle in the final of the Junior Singles and Matthew Mudd in the final of the Cadet Singles. This seasons Division Two Singles final will be between DTH Redlands X-Youth team mates Clive Eden and Jeff Reay.
Reay also reached the final of the Division Two doubles with Alex Olliffe where they will meet Steve Elkin and Rob Vaughan. Division Three’s Stanley Street Cypriots’ Graham Stent also had a good championships as he battled his way into the Division Three singles final to play Luke Barraclough and he also made the Doubles final with Mitchell Radford where they will play Justin Flear and George Makrakis. This year’s Ladies singles final will be a repeat of last year’s final between Jayden Budworth and Lea Dickinson with The Plate Singles Final being between Steve Elkin and Matthew Williams. Steve Lyon also had a good championships, reaching both the Over 50’s and Over 60’s singles finals, where he will be up against Malcolm Manuel and Paul Linfield respectively with the Over 40’s Singles final being between Rick Harris and Dave Marsh making his third final of the championships.
