The 10th round of the British Supersport Championship, at the Dutch Assen TT circuit, provided highs and lows for Harworth’s Dean Hipwell and the CDH Racing team.

He picked up an eighth place and a ‘did not finish’ in the two races.

In Saturday afternoon’s sprint race he started from 16th in the grid, but was up into eighth by the end of the first lap in wet – but drying – conditions.

He moved back and forth in the field over the course of the race, before fighting off the challenge of Luke Mossey at the chequered flag.

Hipwell’s fastest lap would see him start from f15th on the grid for Sunday afternoon’s feature race.

He made up two positions on the first lap but by the end of the fourth lap appeared to be having mechanical problems with the CDH Triumph.

The next lap saw the end of his race as he pitted with a broken clutch.

But he was still happy with the weekend, having picked up eight championship points to stay 14th in the standings.
