Worksop Dolphins youngsters have been making waves recently, with some excellent results in a series of county competitions.
The events, used to establish who the top swimmers are in Notts in each category, saw Dolphins aged nine to 14 in action, doing their club and the town proud.
They put together one of the best set of overall results in the club’s recent history.
There were many individual success stories throughout the competitions with Lucy Gratton in particular giving the coaches something to celebrate.
She set an unbeatable record by finishing first in every single category and taking away the County Championship shield as age group winner.
A club spokesperson expressed their delight at her dominance.
“Huge congratulations to Lucy Gratton for her tremendous success at the Notts County Championships.”
“Lucy won every single event and finished as the County Champion in the girls 10 year age category. “
“Well done Lucy, fantastic achievement.”
She was joined in a podium place by Lucy Ambrose and Jenson Payne who both finished third overall.
In the disability categories seasoned swimmer Joe Seage finished first in three of his events.
The Dolphins counted an array of medals at the conclusion of the series.
In the girls categories Lucy Ambrose took three silver medals, while Holly Anderson added a haul comprising of two silver and four bronze.
There was silver for Hannah Butler and Lorna Milligan, three silvers for Ellie Smeeton and a bronze for Hannah Webb.
In the boys categories Jenson Payne helped himself to a silver medal.
The relay teams were also in formidable form with the girls 9/10 years medley team stomping home with gold.
The girls 12 and under finished with silvers in the 200 medley event and 200 free, and the girls 14 and under picked up bronze in the 200 free.
The following swimmers took part in numerous events finishing high on the results list or achieving personal bests: Harry Butler, Jasper Dennison, Edward Durham, Marik Goodwin, Niall Goy, Luke Higginbottom, Matthew Lamkin, Owen Smith, Ava Bavington-Nicholls, Abbie Conroy, Lucy Conroy, Evie Dennison, Amelia Denyer, Hannah Gratton, Grace Hegarty, Lorna Milligan, Emmeline Munro, Isabella Munro, Ella Simmonite, Hannah Storey and Hannah Taylor.
The successful Worksop Dolhpins swimmers will now move on to the Midlands Championships, and then the National Championships which will be taking place later in the season.
The swimmers were backed by local firms in their bid for glory.

Worksop Dolphins, formed in 1975, is affiliated to the ASA Midland District and the Notts ASA.
