Worksop Xbox Boxing Academy has ended eight years of being an amateur-only club and is now amateur and professional under the British Irish Boxing Authority.

First to turn pro will be heavyweight Ben Brammer, a successful amateur with Xbox and previously on the unlicensed circuit, gaining two victories over Dinnington’s experienced professional, Darren Snow.

Zac Layne is looking to turn professional at lightweight.

The club is gearing up for the East Midlands Box Cup, and from August will be rolling out accreditation in GCSE through boxing.

Xbox Academy head coach and owner Chris Boyle said: “We’ve worked hard establishing a top-level club in Worksop and this is the next step.

“Ben and Zac are both really dedicated trainers and I have hopes for both of them.”

Boyle appealed for any would-be sponsors to get in touch.
