Lee Westwood had spent the week in Turkey, preparing for this weekend’s Turkish Airlines Open.
The Worksop golfer, who has relocated back to the UK, finished in a share of eighth place in Istanbul last year.
Graeme McDowell and Bernd Weisburger were his playing partners on Thursday morning, as he got off to a good start, one under after four as the Guardian went to print.
Mark Foster finished 55th at last week’s UBS Hong Kong Open.
He was level par after the four rounds, 17 shots behind winner Justin Rose.
The event allowed the Worksop man to showcase some much needed consistency, with three consecutive rounds of 69, one under.
But Sunday’s round brought a 73, and with it €5,611 in prize money.
