Lindrick’s Nathan Fell brought the Fairweather Salver home from Middlesbrough last weekend.

The youngster shot a gross 288 in the North of England Open Amateur Youth Championship.

After an opening round of 77 Fell hit back with a impressive 67 to make the cut.

He then shot two rounds of 72 on the final day to win the salver, which is awarded to the lowest score for competitors under the age of 18.

It was the second piece of silverware picked up by a Lindrick golfer this month, after Joe Dean won the English Amateur Championship at The Alwoodley Golf Club.

The 21-year-old almost holed in one to seal a resounding 9/7 victory.

Dean joins an impressive list of former winners of the title, including Ryder Cup great Nick Faldo, and two of Lindrick’s current European Tour professionals Danny Willett and Mark Foster.
