The Bassetlaw Indoor Bowls finals produced some thrilling action at North Notts Community Arena last weekend.

First up on Saturday was the Ladies Singles with Beryl Wilson beating up and coming bowler Judith Bryan.

Beryl’s experience was the deciding factor, but Judith gave a good account of herself.

At the same time Liam Cairns and Pete Bainbridge overcame Dave Binch and Len Long in the Men’s Pairs.

In the Mixed pairs Dave Curren and Dianne Burridge beat out of form Chris Hopkinson and Craig Snowden.

Liam Cairns, Pete Bainbridge, Rob Burridge and Dave Barrowcliffe crept home in the Men’s Fours, beating John Heppel, John Holmes, Ray Taylor and Brian Exley by one shot.

Sunday morning saw Nigel Turner and Stuart Bratley clash in the Men’s Singles, the duo putting on an exciting display.

With scores level at 20 all and both needing just one shot to win, it was Nigel who produced the goods.

Dave Curren and his wife Sue, aided by Rob Burridge, beat John Peat, Millie Satchell and John Cleary in the Mixed Triples.

The Men’s Triples saw Len Long, Dave Binch and Brian Exley beat Dave Curren, Ken Hind and Rob Burridge.

A Planet Bowls Singles competition, organised by Nigel Turner, will see 64 top bowlers from around the country compete on 22nd and 23rd of March at North Notts Arena.
