Sharks have re-signed forward Colin Sing as they continue to build for the 2015/16 season.
Sing, a qualified teacher, will also take up a lead role in the Sharks community classroom.
Coach Atiba Lyons said: “Colin has been a hardworking member of the team for the last four years, alongside colleagues he has had a heavy schedule of studying, playing for the University and the Sharks.
“Now he will be more integral to the club, he will have the opportunity to focus on his professional game and continue his post playing development.”
Sing, originally from Liverpool, started his BBL career with Essex Pirates before moving to Sheffield to complete his degree and join the Sharks.
The 6’7” forward said: “This is an exciting new era for me, it finally feels like I have a clear focus on both aspects of my career and I am excited about the team that is coming together at the Sharks.
“I am really looking forward to pre-season and seeing what we look like and how my role will work.”
The Sharks have still a few positions on the roster to complete, however they plan to pull the team in for pre-season in the coming weeks.
“The season is starting earlier and with the changes being made we will need the time to get everybody match ready, but so far I am excited with the mix of old and new so it won’t be an entirely new start,” said Sing.
