Sheffield Sharks have acted swiftly in bolstering their squad by signing 6’8” forward TJ Robinson.
The American replaces 6’10” Reggis Onwukamuche who left the club last week following a brief stay in Sheffield.
Robinson who played for Division 1 Long Beach University – averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds – before progressing his professional career in Europe, will join his new teammates this week ready for Friday’s home league match against Cheshire Phoenix at the EIS.
He said: “I’m excited to be here. It’s great top be part of an organisation that has a long history of being competitive, it shows that they are serious about their business.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the team and I know I can contribute to a great season.”
Coach Atiba Lyons said: “I am happy with this signing, TJ comes with a strong pedigree and more experience in competitive leagues, we are really happy to welcome him to Sheffield.
“He will definitely fit well with Captain Mike Tuck and he knows what it takes to win and that’s the mentality we are looking for.”
