Local athletes Nathan Langley and Georgina Page excelled in the English Under 15 and Under 17 track and field championships at Bedford.

The two Worksop Harriers were up against the best youngsters in the country.

Under 15 Langley finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 12.36m and recorded a personal best throw of 35.96m in the hammer to finish in ninth place.

Page competed in three events in the Under 17s category over the two day championships, finishing 13th (28.48m) in the discus and 18th (9.47m) in the shot.

A throw of 38.82m was rewarded with 10th place in pool ‘B’ of the hammer, meaning she missed out on the final in that event.

Langley has also been in action at two open meetings.

At York, in cold and wet conditions, he recorded two firsts, in shot and discus, and a second place in the 800m.

At the Loughborough Open meeting the sun shone and he was first in the shot and discus, and had two 80m hurdle personal bests, finishing third in the final.
