Sheffield Steelers are heading towards a full house for their home season opener tomorrow.

Only 500 tickets remained unsold at lunch time today, ahead of the league game with Milton Keynes Lightning at Sheffield Arena.

All tickets are a cut price five pounds, which is clearly part of the attraction.

Steelers will be a full strength team with the exception of Davey Phillips, who picked up a suspension at Nottingham Panthers in the Challenge Cup last Saturday.

Coach Paul Thompson will be debuting 16 new players, saying the team is a "work in progress."

Club officials are preparing for the event with a rehearsal tonight while the finishing touches are also being put on the new merchandising shop.
