Millicent Morgan has been training with instructor Master Andrew Blinston for three years.

Training three to four times a week, and attenting additional seminars and leadership training have helped her progress to an impressive level.

Not content with her hectic training schedule, the youngster is also involved in gymnastics and dance.

A spokesperson for the Retford club told the Guardian: “This little super star is the shinning example of a Black Belt Leader and what it takes to be the best in the area.”

“She has participated in inter club competitions and won several medals and trophies.”

“She has also trained with Grand Master Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan and has been a leader in many local demonstration events within the Retford community.”

Morgan recently joined the club’s demonstration team and is in training for December’s Bassetlaw Sports Awards, where they will perform at Retford Oaks Academy.

Master Blinston presented her with a black belt in the presence of family, friends and other academy black belts.

He said: “It is always a very special and emotional moment when another student of Lynx achieves a black belt. “

“Millie has shown real dedication and perseverance to her martial arts training.”

“She is always very keen to help in class. Her family have also demonstrated amazing support.”
