Local anglers doing their bit for charity

Many local clubs hold charity matches and events throughout the year, with thousands of pounds raised for charities.

Of course this wouldn’t be possible if it were not for the fisheries giving up waters for free, tackle donations from local shops and the many anglers who make the effort to attend. Hats off to you all!

One such event was the recent Notts AA Children In Need charity match, at Sherwood Forrest Fishery.

Pete Hodgetts won with over 100lb of carp but more importantly, he and many others put themselves out to raise money for a great cause.

This week it was Lakeside’s turn to do their bit for charity. The Dave Wright Memorial Charity Match was held at the venue, with many anglers turning out to support the event.

A commendable £700 was raised for the MacMillan Nurses, in memory of Dave.
