Launch set for Bowls4U

On Friday 14th September the North Notts Community Arena, in partnership with Bassetlaw Indoor Bowls Club, are launching their new ‘Bowls4U’ initiative.

North Notts Community Leisure Ltd (NNCL) has been awarded £41,200 from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities fund to carry out improvements and refurbishments to the indoor bowls area at the arena, and NNCL have committed a further £10,000 towards the project.

The award will benefit over 500 local residents, who regularly play the game, and it is hoped more bowlers will be found through the arena’s free six-week coaching scheme.

On the day there will be a series of games which will include the resident indoor bowls club from Bassetlaw, plus a Notts representative team, the current world number one Greg Harlow, Men’s World Champion Andy Thomson, former World Champion Billy Jackson plus England International Rebecca Field.

The day commences at 10am through to 8pm and there will be a charge of £1 for entry.

A few words from the international stars will be followed by a buffet for all.
