Other notable performances included a third in Best Riding Horse/Hack for Tarna Mason and her TB mare Roxy, who at 15 was in only her second ever show, following her two former careers as a race horse and then a brood mare.

Show jumping was badly hit by the rain; two classes had to be cancelled, and jumps taken out of the course for safety, but those competitors intrepid enough to give it a go had fun.

Millie Walker and her pony Cass, both at their first ever show, and longstanding member Audrey Payne, returning from injury that has kept her out for much of the season, took plaudits for their performances.

The club’s next show is the final members’ show of the season, but they will be running a Winter Show Jumping League at Milton Equestrian Centre near Worksop.
