Kilton Forest Golf Club bids to identify first men to tee off

Kilton Forest Golf Club want to identify the first four men to tee off on the course, ahead of their 35th anniversary celebrations.

The club, which will host a day of golf and fun activities on 21st September to mark the occasion, would like Guardian readers to help name the gentlemen in the picture, right.

It is believed the golfer on the left is ‘cockney’ Bill Hyde, but the identities of his three playing partners remain unknown.

The Kilton Forest celebrations will feature a Stableford Golf Competition, with the first golfers teeing off at 10am and the last at 2pm.

Refreshments will be served at the halfway house.

Members and non members are welcome, and families are invited from 12pm as the fun day activities begin.

Prizes to be won on the day include cinema tickets, theme park tickets, PING merchandise, a Sheffield Wednesday shirt and a signed Lee Westwood shirt.

Any golfer lucky, or skilfull enough to get a hole in one could win a new Ford Fiesta, golfing holiday or a set of clubs.

Notts Fire and Rescue will be attending, so the public can have a look around an engine, while children can get their faces painted and take part in various games.

Tombola stalls, bric a brac and cake stalls will also feature, with a barbecue and late disco completing the event.

The local band Lucille will perform between 7.30pm and 9pm.
