Judo juniors converge on Gainsborough

Whiteswood Lane Judo Club hosted a junior competition last week with over 80 judokas from all over the country.

Sturton Judo Club won five trophies.

Golds went to George Hyde (U12s), Emma Butler (U14s), Tom Burton (U14s), silvers to Jenson Wykes (U8s) and Emma Butler (U16s).

Whiteswood Lane Judo Club won seven trophies, with golds for Lauren Douce (U8s) and Chris Gillyett (U16s), silvers for Jessica Smythe (U8s), Elliott List (U8s), Brandon Smith (U10s) and Dylan Hodgson (U14s) and a bronze for Kieron Smythe (U16s).

The event was sponsored by the Everyone Active group and the trophies were supplied by County Cups in Lincoln.

Training in Gainsborough is on Mondays at West Lindsey Leisure Centre, Beginners 6pm-7pm, Junior and Senior/Adults 7pm-8.30pm, £2 per session. Training in Sturton is on Thursdays at Sturton Village Hall, Beginners 6pm-7pm, Junior and Senior/Adults 7pm-8.30pm, £1.50 per session.
