It’s double top Gold Cup wins for Jacklin

Gainsborough’s Paula Jacklin has become the first lady to win the Lincs darts Gold Cup singles and doubles titles.

Her victory over fellow local star and county representative Ann Chilton saw her through the first round of the singles.

She went on to beat Julie Lambie in the semi-finals and former team-mate and partner Angela Chambers from Gringley in the final.

Jacklin, who lost only one leg all day, told the Standard: “ It was a great day for me, and now it’s on to Lakeside Country Club in Surrey on 29th June.”

Jacklin is no stranger to Lakeside, winning the event for Lincs on nine occasions in her 30-year career.

The mens individual winner was Adam Ward from Lincoln, and he nearly did the double alongside partner Dean Baker, but they were beaten in the pairs final by Skegness duo Simon Stainton and Dave Jones.

Lincs darts are hosting their first presentation night on5th July at Blues Club, Gainsborough.

Tickets will cost £5, which includes a hot and cold buffet, entry into the random £200 darts competition, prize presentations and a late night disco.
