EASTER METEOR

Doncaster 2.10 WIN

Trainer Emma Lavelle fields a handful of very interesting runners across the country today. But the one that might slip under the radar, and consequently go off at an attractive price, is this lightly-raced chaser. It’s seven weeks now since his seasonal re-appearance in a competitive handicap at Cheltenham. But at a time when Lavelle’s horses were badly needing the run, he finished a most encouraging second to a Nicky Henderson winner (Nadiya De La Vega) who went on to be third in the Paddy Power Gold Cup and is one of the leading fancies in today’s big race, also at Prestbury Park. The six-year-old has been raised only 4lbs for a lesser contest on ground and on a track he is guaranteed to enjoy. He’s made the frame in all five of his chase starts and goes well for today’s pilot, Dominic Elsworth.
