Hockey girls make a perfect U16 debut

THE Worksop College Under 16 girls hockey team had the perfect debut in the Midlands Indoor Tournament on Saturday.

Despite it being the first time the school has entered a team, the girls won their group after some high scoring games and went on to beat Repton School in the final.

After drawing 3-3 in normal time, the Worksop College side triumphed 3-2 on penalty strokes.

A school spokesperson said: “The team were all very proud of their performance, which saw every girl score at least once, under strong leadership from captain Emma Bray.”

The national finals take place in January.
