Harriers in great start to League

The men and boys are third, while the girls are sixth going into the second meeting.

A Harriers spokesman told the Guardian why the club value the league: “It is an important league for the club as it enables everyone from under 11s all the way through to veteran members to compete together in the same competition.”

The next meeting is also at Grantham on 19th May.

Under 11 boys: Oliver Oakes: 80m (1st, 14.0), ball throw (3rd, 14.86m).

Under 11 girls: Charlotte Mills: 100m (11th, 18.2).

Under 13 boys: James Carratt: javelin (1st, 18.6m), shot (1st, 6.87m).

Under 15 girls: Sophie Mills: 100m (=1st, 14.1), 200m (1st, 29.1); Charlotte Oakes: 100m (13th, 15.4), long jump (10th , 3.92m).

Under 15 boys: James Lonsdale: 200m (1st, 27.1), 800m (1st, 2:17.4); Josh Charters: 300m (1st, 49.0), 800m (2nd, 2:34.1), shot (5th, 6.03m); Nathan Garratt: high jump (1st, 1.45m).

Under 17 girls: Stephanie Oakes: 200m (6th, 31.4), high jump (3rd, 1.4m, PB); Lauren Ward: 800m (1st, 2:52.3), high jump (2nd, 1.4m).

Under 17 boys: Ben Twible: 200m (8th, 26.9), 400m (3rd, 56.5), long jump (3rd, 4.89m), javelin (2nd, 16.74m); Tom Carratt: 3000m steeple case (2nd, 14:15.9), hammer (1st, 20.38m).

Under 17 girls: Georgina Page: hammer (2nd, 21.32m), javelin (5th, 15.23m), shot (2nd, 8.38m); Lea Dickinson: hammer (5th, 11.91m), javelin (1st, 18.98m).

Under 20 girls: Victoria Page: discus (2nd, 19.59m), javelin (1st, 14.73m).

Senior women: Amy Fendley: 400m hurdles (1st, 74.3), long jump (1st, 5.0m), triple jump (1st, 9.11m), javelin (2nd, 24.52m).

Veteran women: Anna Stocks: 100m (2nd, 15.01), 200m (1st, 31.4), 400m 1st, 70.8).

Veteran men: John Harrison: 800m (2nd, 2:42.9); Philip Carratt: 100m (3rd, 15.0), long jump (2nd, 3.82m), javelin (5th, 21.95m); Lyndon Stocks: 400m (2nd, 69.1); James Charters: discus (7th, 16.39m), hammer (5th, 14.18m), javelin (6th, 17.91m), shot (7th, 7.16m).

In the North Lincolnshire half marathon, held at Scunthorpe in rather windy conditions, the Harriers finished as follows: Richard Hind (113th, 1:31:34, PB), David Wass (175th, 1:34:56), Jonathan Stott (207th, 1:36:49), Craig Cooper (242nd, 1:38:35), Adele Bryan (290th, 1:41:01, PB), John Bradshaw (309th, 1:42:06).

There were 863 finishers.

Junior members train from 5pm to 6.30pm on Wednesdays .

Seniors train every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:15pm.

All the sessions are held at at Manton Club on Retford Road in Worksop.
