Gymnasts have a spring in their step after taking dozens of medals

Girls from Worksop Gymnastics Club have been dominating recent competitions, picking up top honours.

At the Regional Open Age Championships, Abby MacPherson, 10, became Level 4 bars champion, and took silver on beam.

Two weeks later Abby took the overall Level 4 title at the Witham Hill Invitational competition, where she also took individual golds on bars and vault, and silver on tumble.

Also competing at Level 4 in this competition Lauren Hughes, aged nine, won silver on range and conditioning and bronze on beam.

And Chloe Tate, 13, became vault champion, taking two further Bronze medals on range and conditioning and Bars.At the same competition two more gymnasts from the club became overall champions at their respective levels.

Millie Davison won the Level 5 title, and Pippa Chalmers, aged just 11, became Level 3 champion by an astonishing four marks margin over her nearest rivals, many of whom were much older.

Pippa also made a clean sweep in the individual apparatus titles with four more golds on vault, bars, beam and tumble, and shared a silver medal on range and conditioning with team-mate Hallie Elkington, to finish off an outstanding performance.

Hallie also won two bronze medals on tumble and bars, with very pleasing performances after coming back from injury earlier in the year.

In the individual apparatus titles for Level 5, Millie Davison also added the vault, bars and beam gold medals to her haul, with a bronze for trampet.

Ten-year-old Aimee Mellors took gold on trampet and bronze on Beam.

For the nine-year-olds Grace Ally became beam champion, also taking silver on floor and two bronze, bars and vault,

Rose Forrest took two silvers on beam and vault, whilst Amelia Pullinger took silver on bars.

In the younger age group, eight-year-old Annalise Dolby won gold on trampet and silver on vault, bars and floor, while Acacia Green took bronze on vault.

Just one week later it was the turn of the up and coming members of the club to shine at the County Novice Championships, where once again they took top honours in every age group.

Kiera Harvey became age 6/7 champion and Charlotte Alcock took bronze, the six-year-olds delighting their coaches.

Alexsandria Kena won the 8/9 category, Emily Alcock the 10/11 and finally to finish off the day Eve Draycott won the 12+ with Chloe Drury taking third place.

The competitions, in total, brought the club 21 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals in total.

The final competition for this season will be the County Tumbling Championships on 8th December where the girls hope to round off yet another outstanding year for the club.
