Westwood set for WGC in Ohio

LEE Westwood is back in action across the pond this weekend, in Akron, Ohio, for the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

The Worksop golfer, who took time off after The Open to visit his academies and host the Lee Westwood Worksop Guardian Junior Championship, finished in the top 10 in 2011.

He was due to tee off at Firestone on Thursday alongside Ricky Fowler.

Westwood said: “I’m looking forward to playing in America again.”

“I’ve played well there this year and I’ve always seemed to play good in Akron.”

Next week brings the final major of the year, the US PGA Championship.
