Cricketers in the swing of it

ANSTON Cricket Club’s Golf Society have set up a brand new competition, backed by sponsors 4.4.2, Last Orders and Heineken UK.

The ‘2012 Pairs Betterball’ tournament will be played on 1st April at Worksop Golf Club.

Society secretary Janet King explained how it will work.

“Teams of two will pair up, full handicap will apply and the competition is open to all – but we want honest handicaps, no bandits please!”

“Juniors must be 12 or over with a handicap and individual entries are welcome, they’ll be paired with another individual to form a team.”

The competition will cost £45, or £15 for full members of Worksop Golf Club, to cover the cost of competitions and meals.

Included in the price is coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes of golf, ‘longest drive’, ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘twos’ competitions, a hot dinner at the end of the day and a prize presentation.

Entry will be limited to 40 entries and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
