Frost puts the icing on the cake with gold medal

Taekwondo tot Holly Frost brought home a gold from a tournament in Bradford last weekend, after beating a team-mate in the final.

The Ordsall Primary student was in action at the Richard Dunn Leisure Centre at Bradford winnining gold overall in the -21kg class.

Her semi-final bout was against an opponent from Leeds Lions Taekwondo, and she won 2-0.

In the final bout she took on team-mate Isabelle Adamsons, who she also faced at the Chi Open Championships last month.

Frost, only six years of age, picked up a 4-2 win, helped by coaching from Ian Fairhurst of Scorpion Taekwondo, to finish an excellent first year of competition on a high.

Dad Jason told the Guardian his daughter was delighted.

“Holly was over the moon with the results and looks forward to her next competition which is now likely to be after Christmas.”

Frost’s team-mates from all branches of Scorpion Taekwondo collected an array of medals and the third place team trophy.

She trains in Doncaster with Master Pete Adamsons and Adele Deakes, at Scorpion Taekwondo, alongside some internationals.
