Jamie-lea Grace has notched an incredible 46 goals in just 22 matches this season for Worksop Girls Club, in the Under 11s league.
The youngster finished the season as the league’s top goalscorer, despite being younger than most of her rivals. Manager Paul Argyle told the Guardian: “Jamie-lea has been playing in the Under 11 league when she is young enough for the Under 10s.”
“Last season she played for Worksop Boys and scored 12 goals in 12 games.” Prolific Grace has helped fire Worksop Girls Club to a much improved second half of the season.
Her gaffer said: “This was the girls’ first season, and in the first half they were beaten by all the established teams in the league.”
“They bonded and in the second half picked up points and gave the likes of Doncaster Belles and Sheffield Wednesday Ladies scares.”
Worksop Girls were the sixth top scorers in their league, while the club as a whole put out 13 teams this season, with around 230 kids in action.
