Lockdown has once again thwarted the progress of the winger. Last season, Sennett-Neilson broke into the first team from the Under-21s and went on to make three appearances, scoring in the Tigers’ final game against Chasetown before the season was expunged.

Sennett-Neilson again has been on the periphery of the first team this term, impressing off the bench in the league and making a positive impact in the friendly matches.

He explained the impact that the several lockdowns have had on his progress, and how far he has come under the stewardship of Parry.

“It doesn’t really shock me anymore, like since the first lockdown – nearly a year ago now – you feel like you have got to be prepared for it,” said Sennett-Neilson.

“I have just got to stay fit now, but it is devastating because I feel like every time I have come back, gotten a good run, started to pick things up and learning more off the gaffer and doing more of what he wants from me, and then the season gets cut just like that.

“I just need to pick myself up and do the same next season, I feel like I have learnt a lot from the gaffer.

“When I came back from the November lockdown, I felt like I had matured a little bit in my performances, so hopefully I can take that into next season.”

Sennett-Neilson also expressed his desire to earn a starting spot consistently next season.

“I think looking towards next season, the first thing will just be earning a spot in that first team starting 11 regularly – I think that is the main goal,” he continued.

“Goals, for me, will come after that priority because you would like to be in the team and scoring 10 or 20 goals, picking up assists, and stuff like that as an attacker.

"The goal at this moment is breaking into that first team and getting into the starting 11 and being in there more often.

“I’d like to try and work my way into there and be the first name on the team sheet and things like that – that is what I am aiming for.

“Any other goals that I have requires me to hit that first one because I want to get that secured first.”
