Worksop Town will issue deadline to silent Nuneaton, or Elliott deal is off

Speaking to the Worksop Guardian, Keep revealed that he has had no reply to an email sent to Nuneaton owner Lee Thorn on Monday, and his only information on the progress of the deal has come through Elliott and his family.

And as the clubs near the four-week mark since coming to an agreement over the undisclosed fee, Keep says Nuneaton are running out of time.

“I will be sending an e-mail to Lee Thorne informing him of the deadline, or the deal is to be rejected and Tom must return to Worksop Town Football Club,” he said.

“They have until tea time on Saturday because it’s getting farcical now.”

Keep is frustrated at the situation, and says he wasn’t aware Elliott was training with Nuneaton until this week.

And he’s adamant Worksop have done all in their power to get the deal completed.

“I am fully confident should Tom’s transfer not go through that myself, secretary Paul Stacey and manager Mark Shaw have done everything we could to help with his move,” he said.

“I promised his mum and dad through respect for them I would do all I can to get it sorted, and to be honest I couldn’t do any more than I have done.”

Elliott has not played for Tigers since 31st January, but has been seen warming up with Kevin Wilson’s National League North club before their games.

Worksop boss Mark Shaw has demanded he stop training with Nuneaton until they have paid for him.
