Tigers are yet to reveal which club the home-grown midfielder will join, but the Guardian believes it’s a side with promotion hopes this season.

The youngster had initially withdrawn a transfer request, but an apparent change of heart has led to a move for the Carlton-in-Lindrick man.

Elliott has become a mainstay of the Worksop side since they dropped down the NCEL Premier, having made his debut during the Evo-Stik Premier days.

Club chairman Kevin Keep said: “The club is in the final stages of negotiations with a National League North side over the transfer of Tom Elliott.

“An undisclosed transfer fee and sell on fee has been agreed; the paperwork now needs to be raised and signed.

“It is now anticipated Tom has played his last game for the Tigers.

“It was thought the club had persuaded Tom to stay until the end of the season, however, Tom has had a change of heart and decided now is the right time to move on, a decision the club respects.

Worksop Town FC wish Tom all the best with the move and hope it is a success.”

Tigers rejected a bid, believed to be from the same National League North club, midway through last month after it failed to meet their estimation of Elliott’s worth.
