And in even better news for Tigers fans, Elliott has agreed to remain at Sandy Lane unless the club’s valuation of him is met by a future bid.

Chairman Kev Keep confirmed: “Following extensive discussions between both the decision making committee and first team manager Mark Shaw, the four figure sum tabled by the interested party was deemed way below our valuation of the player, given Tom’s importance to the Tigers first team over the past 18 months.

“Having held discussions with Tom direct, he has confirmed that he is happy to stay with the club until the end of the season and help us in our push for promotion from the NCEL – should no offers that reach Worksop Town’s valuation be received.”

“Tom is held in the highest regard at Worksop Town, and I would love nothing more than to see the Tigers faithful roar him and his team mates to victory against Parkgate on Saturday.”

Elliott has been on trial at Sheffield Wednesday this season, and has attracted scouts from a number of Football League clubs.
