It took just a minute for returning striker Mark Simpson to bag a goal with a customary tap in from ten yards after a lovely move inside the box.

He shortly grabbed his second in typical predator-like fashion, a long ball up front wasn’t cleared by the Harworth back line and as the keeper hesitated and found himself in no-man’s land as Simpson headed over him into an empty net.

It was three just before half-time and it was Kyle Jordan’s turn to get in on the act of returning strikers. He smashed his chance into the roof of the net after a sharp passing move involving new boy Matt Sykes.

After the interval Denton shuffled his pack to a more youthful outfit and the game lost its flow as the home side soon followed suit. The game petered out after no real chances and we now look forward to a home tie against Sheffield United this Saturday afternoon.
