Worksop Town crush Clipstone in friendly

Second-half braces from Mikey Dunn and Ben Tomlinson, added to first-half goals from James Baxendale, Aaron Sennett-Neilson, Cody Cromack and Lewis Gibbens, sealed the game for the Tigers.

Worksop took an early lead in the nith minute when Sennett-Neilson drilled home after a good move.

The Tigers continued to dominate and were rewarded eight minutes later when Sennett-Neilson picked out Baxendale, who tapped into an empty net.

It was 3-0 when Cromack got on the end of a Sennett-Neilson cross to score on 20 minutes.

The game was out of sight for Clipstone on the stroke of half-time. Baxendale’s corner found Gibbens in the middle, who managed to steer his effort through a crowd of bodies.

The Tigers made seven half-time changes; however, this didn’t upset their rhythm, with two of these substitutions netting braces.

The first of these came from Dunn, who slotted home after a mazy run from the right-hand channel.

Moments later, Dunn bagged his double when he received the ball with his back to goal on the edge of the Clipstone box. He turned sharply and curled the ball into the bottom right-hand corner of the goal.

Another substitute, Tomlinson, found his scoring boots shortly after, steering a delightful header from a Connor Smythe corner.

Tomlinson then almost grabbed his second of the game. A lovely-weighted delivery from Smythe found the striker, but his header was fairly central, giving Parkes an easy save to make.

Tomlinson did, however, grab his second of the game after a brilliant piece of play by Baxendale.

The playmaker regained possession deep into the Clipstone half and executed a lovely through ball into Tomlinson's path, and his cheeky chipped finish fooled the outcoming Parkes.

Sennett-Neilson then almost grabbed his second of the game. The winger collected the ball 20 yards away from the Clipstone goal, and his weaving run into the box was backed by a rifled shot that forced Parkes into a terrific save.
