The Tigers - along with the rest of the football community - are waiting to find out what will happen with the rest of the 2019/20 season, which was suspended last week amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

The Northern Premier League stated its intention to terminate the rest of the campaign this week, subject to ratification from the Football Association, but how final placings are determined remains unclear.

Worksop, midtable in the BetVictor NPL South East with six fixtures outstanding, only have one contracted player to the club so won't be hindered too much financially in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak with no matchday revenue.

"We only have one contracted player," Jordan told the Guardian. "Everyone else is working on a non-contract basis.

"There will be clubs at our level which have the majority of the squad contracted and paid per week until the end of whenever the season was due to end. It'll be those clubs who will be feeling it the most.

"We should be in a position where it doesn't hinder us to a massive degree because we don't generally have players contracted to wages.

"We're lucky on that front that we can plan for next season in the knowledge the club is financially safe."

And, while Worksop are yet to receive any formal decision on the current campaign, Jordan believes the club won’t be greatly impacted by the outcome on how to conclude the current season.

"It's a difficult one because, for us, where we are in the league, it doesn't matter if the season ends now or later.

"We're mid-table, not going up, not going down, so it's not something which really affects us a great deal.

"I would probably have a different view if we were one of the clubs in the lower play-off positions.

"They've worked hard to be where they are.

"It's a tough league, a very tough league, and it looks like it potentially might not work out for them.

"I don't really think anyone could begrudge Stamford from that second spot because they are well clear of Cleethorpes in third.

"It's a very strange situation but it looks as though with the statements that have gone out that they'll nip this season.

"How they finish it - points per game, call the final table, or to null and void it - won't impact greatly on Worksop Town."
