The Tigers have played four friendlies and an inter-squad match ahead of a proposed Boxing Day restart against Lincoln United after the second national lockdown in November.

However, last Monday, it was announced that their Boxing Day fixture and their New Year’s Day trip to Frickley Athletic had been postponed, with no clarity on when the season would properly resume.

Parry has expressed his desire for everyone to get back to league fixtures.

“It is really disappointing to not be able to continue,” said Parry.

“These are very strange times, and it has been a strange year, and no one really knows what is ahead of ourselves and we do not know what to expect.

“The lads are now going to get a couple of days off over Christmas and then we will be right back at it depending on what is going to happen.

“We are going to try to plan that we will be back in January and playing in that first week and starting to hopefully get back into competitive football.

“This is not just for us and the football club, but for all of the footballing community and we are all as one regardless of any rivalries; we should all be really pushing together to all become one.

“Let’s get back to some competitive football regardless of us winning or losing, let’s get back making people happy and enjoying football once again.”

Parry believes that it is crucial that the season comes to a conclusion, whilst ensuring the safety of others during the pandemic.

He continued: “I think it is vital because I just look at this club and the people around and behind the scenes to get us through these troubling times.

“They are trying to get us out playing and training whilst making it safe, because we cannot forget that we are in the middle of a pandemic.

“So, in order to see the season be finished off, we must do it for all of the clubs, volunteers, chairman, secretaries, and for everyone because of the hard work that they have put in.”
