Worksop Town assistant manager Craig Rouse says he is 'honoured' to be at the club

Rouse was also happy that the rest of the management team followed them to Worksop in order to keep that same level of continuity.

“It is an honour to be joining such a big club,” said Rouse.

“We have obviously seen the club from afar and have seen various things, such as the size of the crowds and the potential of the club, and we really can't wait to get started.

“The size of the challenge is what attracted us here: I don’t think Worksop are at the level that they should be.

“Hopefully we can realise the potential and kick on.

“Hopefully we can give a positive reaction and help the club progress.

“The whole management team moving with us was a massive thing when we were in talks with the club.

“We’re a trusted team; a lot of us played the remaining few years of our careers together, and we took the steps into management together.

“We wanted to bring them all to keep that continuity going.

“This season we were in a title race and last season we lost in the play-off final, so things were going well and everyone was on the same page.

“We wanted that to continue and if we do that then you have to work with the same people.

“Fans can expect passion [from manager Craig Parry]; he’s strict and disciplined in what he does.

“I think the two of us complement each other in what we do; I think I am a bit more vocal on the side-lines and Craig does more of the vocal side in the changing room, so together it works well.”

Rouse continued to give supporters an insight into the exciting brand of football that the Tigers may produce next season.

“We like to play quickly and we like to play on the front foot and full of energy.

“We like to attack teams and we have a philosophy, which is if a team scores one then we’ll score two.

“We like to keep clean sheets, but the more bodies we get forward means there will be some gaps at the back, however we don’t mind as long as we can score more.”
