Worksop suspend and give Jordan fine

Worksop Town have suspended Kyle Jordan for one match and fined him two weeks' wages for a foul-mouthed message he posted on Twitter.

Jordan’s post took aim at fans and sparked a social media storm. One Tigers fan has made a complaint to the footballing authorities.

Worksop manager Mark Shaw said: “What he said was wrong, very wrong and he shouldn’t have said it. If the FA come down on him then they come down on him, that’s just the way it is.

“We feel we’ve done what is the right thing to do.”

And added: “He’s said something he should not have said but at least he’s remorseful and been man enough to apologise for it.

“I wish the supporter who did the same to me had done that. But I guess they’re allowed to get away with it, saying it in a public place is obviously completely different to saying it on social media.

“Kyle is remorseful and at least he’s stood up to say sorry.”
