‘We must keep fully focused’

TRINITY goal hero Shane Clarke says the players are fully focused ahead of the biggest game in clubs history against Nuneaton this Sunday

The Blues midfielder has missed a large part of the season due to injury but has returned to the starting line-up towards the business end of the campaign.

And the 24-year-old was instrumental alongside Jonathan D’Laryea in the 1-0 win over Halifax and it was his second-half strike that proved the difference between the two sides at the Shay Stadium.

Clarke, who has previously featured for both Lincoln City and Boston United, admits the players must take credit for the work ethic which epitomised the display against a useful Shaymen side.

He said: “We worked hard all game and thankfully I popped up at the right time and got in the box and scored a goal.”

“I’ve hit it not so clean but it’s gone in and I’ll take that all day.”

“We have just got to focus on the next game.”

“We know we haven’t won anything yet but hopefully we will on Sunday. There will be a big crowd and hopefully it will be an enjoyable occasion.”

“I don’t remember too much about the first time (we played Nuneaton this season) because I was injured but I know Boycey scored and it was another hard working display.Hopefully we can go on and record another win.”
