VIDEO: Lego to the match! The life of a plastic Gainsborough Trinity supporter
Let it not be said that Gainsborough Trinity fans don’t have their heads screwed on.
A Blues supporter is setting a trend, with his very own Trinity themed Lego set.
Jack Tinker has a matchday ritual quite unlike any other, tweeting photos of the Gainsborough Lego characters in various parts of football grounds.
The 22-year-old says his unusual companion at the Martin and Co Arena has set tongues wagging.
“I got them through a company in Sheffield,” he said.
“I’m going to be doing a big order for people next season, with the new kit, because loads of people have said they want one.”
A 10-year veteran of watching Trinity in non-league, Tinker has taken the yellow belly toys as far as Wrexham in the FA Cup.
And his dedication to detail is something to behold – he has a Lego version of Gainsborough’s shark mascot Fergal, and recreated a ‘head loss’ moment in honour of Blues captain Dom Roma.
“I’ve been a full-time supporter for about 10 years now.
“My niece, sister, dad and granddad are all Trinity fans, so it’s a family thing.”
