Unprecedented double for Ryton Park School

Ryton Park completed an amazing season by adding the Girls Champion of Champions title, to match their boys’ success, with a comprehensive defeat of Prospect Hill Girls.

Despite a hard working performance and a goal by Chloe White, Prospect were never able to match the fire power of the Ryton Girls.

Ryton Park took an early lead through Jess Hooley and Chantelle Linley made it two.

Prospect were determined to fight back however and the impressive White immediately reduced the arrears.

But Maisie Willis and Linley took the final score to 4-1 and gave Ryton the title for the third successive year and an unprecedented boys and girls double.

Everton, defeated by Ranskill in the Middle Divisions Cup final, took an early opportunity to gain revenge when they won the return game with goals from Leo Woods and a flying header from Isaac Bailey, to claim the Small Schools Champion of Champion title.

Sturton-le Steeple, Division Eight champions, made it their most successful season ever as goals from William Elliott, Dominic Murray and Georg Hudson helped them beat St Peter’s Gringley, to claim a 3-2 victory, the Small Schools Knockout Cup and a memorable double.
