Worksop Town will meet an unfamiliar foe on Saturday, when they host Barton Town Old Boys – the only NCEL Premier side not to have crossed swords with the Tigers already this season.
Saturday’s game will be the first of two meetings in the space of 11 days between the two clubs.
Barton Town currently sit sixth in the NCEL Premier table, 15 points behind league leading Worksop with one game in hand.
Their most recent outing saw them well beaten, 3-0 at home by Cleethorpes Town.
But prior to that they had won three on the trot, without conceding a goal.
Their dangerman will undoubtedly be Scott Phillips, the league’s top goalscorer.
Phillips has found the net an impressive 34 times already this season, with 27 of those goals coming in league action, and has set himself a target of at least six more before the end of the season.
Barton boast wins over Tadcaster, Heanor and Shaw Lane this season, so are expected to provide a stiff test for Tigers.
Last season they finished second in the NCEL Premier, behind winners Brighouse.
