In the opening game of the season, Gainsborough Trinity U15s took all three points at Epworth, with a five star performance.

In blustery conditions Trinity opened the scoring with a 25-yard strike from Keatan Gale, and went on to win 5-0.

Epworth would have got back on level terms if not for a great save from Josh Brockett in the Trinity goal.

And Gainsborough took a firm hold when Tom Eilliams broke clear, rounded the keeper and slotted home.

The defensive quartet of Weatherell, Turver, McKay and Walshaw sniffed out any danger, and Spencer Robson added the third goal from close range.

Debutant Daniel Krakow then opened his account when a cross from the right came back off the crossbar for him to nod home,

The pace of Williams brought the fifth in the final minute, winning a penalty that he converted himself.

Adam Bush broke his collarbone in a heavy challenge and the club wish him a speedy recovery.

Trinity are at home to Scotter on Sunday at Roses, at 10am.
