Trinity kids dethrone last year’s champions

Gainsborough Trinity’s Under 15s produced an amazing performance to beat last season’s champions Bottesford Town 2-1.

Hosts Bottesford started the stronger, taking the lead on 10 minutes when Trinity failed to clear, leaving a bottesford player to score from close range .

But Trinity were soon on level terms when a ball over the top found Tom Williams who struck a great shot from the edge of the area .

The visitors then took the lead moments later when a Daniel Krakow shot from 25 yards nestled in the top corner.

Williams could have made it 3-1 but shot high and wide from a tight angle.

In the second half Trinity came under a lot of pressure but the defensive quartet of McKay, Turver, Walshaw and captain Weatherell fought to maintain their lead.

At the final whistle a very tired Trinity side were applauded off by their ecstatic supporters.

On Sunday they entertain Park Tigers at home at 10am.
