Tigers ready for fresh start after announcing a new owner

Worksop Town are under new ownership previous owner Jason Clark sold his shares in the club to local businessman Paul Tomkins.

The deal will also see Mr Clark write off off his debt owed by the club allowing the Tigers to enjoy a fresh start.

Mr Tomkins, whi has been involved with the club for a number of months, will take charge of all club matters with immediate effect and become the Worksop Town FC Chairman.

A club statement said: “Paul Tomkins is a pragmatic businessman and owns businesses local to the area, Paul came into and immediately fell in love with the club around July, he engineered (literally) the success of the brand-new Stand just weeks into his involvement outlining his exciting intentions from the get-go.

“Worksop Town would like to express our gratitude to Jason Clark for his many years of support and guidance through some troubling times, our thanks are extended with the news that Jason has now written off his debt giving the new ownership a blank canvas to work from at the football club.

“We would also like to thank supporters, volunteers, officials, the management team and our players for their patience during this process of change.

“The club will announce details of an open forum in due course in which the ownership and people involved will be introduced to the supporters.”
