WORKSOP Town’s clash with strugglers Ossett Town took place after a late pitch inspection today, but the hosts will wish it had been called off.
They never really got going, and if Tigers fans at Cannon Park were shocked when David Cyrus made it 1-0 to Ossett on 21 minutes, they were dismayed at Daniel Facey’s goal on the half hour mark.
And it just got worse two minutes before half-time, big striker Nathan Kemp putting the visitors three up.
Worksop Town emerged early for the second half, presumably having faced an angry Martin McIntosh in the dressing room.
And the manager will have been pleased with the way his men began the second period, pulling a goal back through a curling Chris Bettney free-kick.
But just after the hour Kemp’s second made it 4-1, and although they huffed and puffed, and threw men forward, Tigers failed to make any further impression on the scoreline.
