Tigers add former Owls striker Modest

TIGERS have added to the ranks this week with the signing of striker Nathan Modest and young defender Khalid Alali.

Modest, 20, is a former Sheffield Wednesday player who played for the Owls academy and briefly broke into the first team at Hillsborough.

A loan period at Darlington followed, and he featured for Sheffield FC last season.

Worksop boss Simon Clark was impressed with what he saw as Modest made his debut late on Tuesday night.

“I saw him play in a behind closed doors at Alfreton where he’s been training.”

“I had to freshen things up. Nathan has given us movement and energy that we must have.”

Alali, meanwhile, feature for the Worksop Town Under 19s last season, and scored the winner in the Sheffield Senior Cup semi-final at Penistone Church.

He was delighted to sign dual registration terms with Tigers, while he plays and trains with Hallam in the Northern Counties.

The civil engineering student, 19, said: “Hopefully Worksop can keep an eye on me and if they need me, call me up.”

“My aim is to play at the highest level I can, but I’m getting experience at Hallam. If I get a chance I’ll take it.”
