Three Retford area sides through to fourth round

In the Notts County Cup all three teams from the Gainsborouigh League made it to the fourth round, with away victories for Leverton United and Mattersey FC plus a very good home win for the still unbeaten Notts Diagonals.

Leverton were 7-1 winners, Notts Diagonals 3-0 winners and Mattersey FC had to battle very hard for their 5-4 victory.

In the and the eagerly awaited Sporting Club Cup tie between two of the league’s big guns, White Horse and FS Clumber had a terrific battle on the Roses Sports ground.

A resilient White Horse came through to win 4-3 to prove to any doubters they are genuine challengers for honours on all fronts.

In Division One MUSC made it five wins from five league games but they certainly had to work very hard for their 4-3 home win against an Epworth FC team that will play a lot worse than this and win games.

Rose and Crown gave a very good account of themselves at home to Real Canutes before losing 3-0.
