Local Sunday League side Yates United battled it out with Hallcroft FC on Sunday, to raise funds for Worksop archery star Rob Gray.
The charity match, and events run by the Nottingham Building Society, raised £328 to aid Gray’s bid to represent Team GB at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Yates, who won 4-0 thanks to two goals from skipper Carl Jacks and strikes by Clifford Jackson and Cole Blair, were rewarded with a free paintballing day for the squad.
Man of the Match Aaron Fox picked up a £10 voucher for JD.
The cash was raised through the subs donated by the two teams along with the sales from a barbecue. cake sale, raffle, spot the ball competition and kids activities.
Yates in Worksop hosted the fun day, while Manfredi’s Ice Cream made a generous donation.
Local lads Oliver Seaton and Kyle Williams, both 16, volunteered to dress up as mascots for the day, and J&N Entertainments kept children busy all afternoon.
