Star official Howard Webb at Worksop Referees’ meeting

Worksop Referees’ Association welcomed former World Cup final Howard Webb MBE to October’s meeting as guest speaker.

The evening was an overwhelming success as Howard talked about where it all began for him and where he is today.

The audience were entertained with humour throughout and Kevin Gray was the proud winner of a Howard Webb shirt and also a bottle of whiskey.

The generosity of patrons during the evening contributing towards the raffle ensured Worksop Guide Dog Association benefited with a cheque presentation being made to Mr Eddie Parry for £60. A number of people were presented with awards.

Mr Graham Wright was presented with the Keith Goulding Referee of the Year (Season 2014/15) by Howard while Mr Peter Kenworthy was also recognised for his long-standing contribution and services to Worksop Referees’ Association over the last 25 years in various roles, including his present role as treasurer.

Concluding the evening, a vote of thanks was given to Mr Dave Crisp and Mr Dave Northage for continued support to the referees in association with Worksop Sunday League.

Mr Jack Tarr was also thanked for his support on behalf on English Schools Football Association.
