Chairman Andrew Guest said: “This is brilliant for the club and can only be achieved by everyone doing their bit with DBSs and safeguarding training so thank you.

”We can now promote the club at the highest standard and hopefully this will allow us to access more funding when it becomes available.

“However it’s the title we are most proud of – community.

Action at SJR Worksop.

“We pride ourselves on being a community based club and our whole model is to only used locally-based players and coaches. We feel in the past they’ve not been used to their full potential and our aim is to change that and provide opportunities.”

He continued: “We’re the only club in town who now has a clear pathway from junior teams right through to the senior teams, and that is for both male and females.”

SJR have big plans for the future too.

“We’re now in the process of putting together a five year plan to improve the club further,”he said.

“We currently have four senior teams, an Over-35s team and 11 junior teams. Long term we want to add more junior teams, a Veterans Walking team and a Disability Team.

“Our soccer school on a Saturday morning is thriving and this led by head junior coach Lee Scott who is UEFA B qualified and he’s doing a tremendous job.

“It’s through Soccer School we start our U7s teams, so if you’re interested in getting your kids involved, get them down to Rockware at 10am.”

He added: “The club is growing on and off the pitch with our committee, senior and junior coaching staff all working together to make it work.

“I can’t explain how proud I am of this club. I would like to give Sarah Pridmore a special mention, she’s been the driving force behind achieving this accreditation.”

The club will be looking for sponsorship for its new junior teams and existing senior teams next season.

“We understand it’s been a difficult period for some local businesses, but any help would be very much appreciated,” he said.

“We’re the most followed club in the district on social media, so it can be very beneficial.”
